| Andrew Laenen is a classically trained photographer who specialises in reportage, press and motorsport photography. Laenen studied photography at King James College and Berkshire College of Art and Design. He then went on to work for Rex Features, starting as a darkroom technician and worked his way up to staff photographer - the youngest in a team of three. From Rex Features, Laenen moved to Alpha to join their team of staff photographers. During his time as a press photographer, he photographed notable personalities such as Margaret Thatcher and her Conservative government, Princess Diana and the Royal Family and Dame Edna Everidge. He was published in National and International publications and newspapers. After an 11 year sabbatical during which he built successful careers in the British film industry and Formula 1 motorsport engineering, he returned to photography in 2005. Rediscovering his passion for being behind the camera, Laenen has taken on a number of commissions including projects in motorsport. Laenen has worked for several racing drivers as well as corporate sponsors in both Formula 1 and IndyCar. Laenen's keen eye and diverse background ensures he captures more than just the conventional photograph. |
